Community Dance Advocacy Award Winner Announced – Cathleen Huling
Western Michigan University’s Department of Dance and Partners in Dance announce the recipient of this year’s Community Dance Advocacy Award—Cathleen Huling. The award will be presented at a special reception prior to a performance of the WMU Department of Dance’s annual Winter Gala Dance Concert.

Ballet Arts Ensemble is a nonprofit, youth ballet company, established in 1982 by Jerre James and Bette Joachimi. With the retirement of Jerre James in 2001, ballet mistress Cathleen Huling became BAE's artistic director. And in the fall of 2014, former BAE member Erin Rafferty was selected as ballet mistress.
The mission of Ballet Arts Ensemble, Inc., of Kalamazoo (BAE), a youth ballet company, is to provide educational and performing opportunities for its members while perpetuating the art of dance with an emphasis in ballet.
